Free or Paid Platforms
There are major differences between free and paid platforms when it comes to a blog. I understand that many of you are not able to pay for your service, although we HIGHLY recommend using a paid platform, because your content and reviews will be completely yours and will not be subject to removal except in the case of non-payment or plagiarizing. Free platforms have the benefit of not costing you any money, but are limited in what you are able to do. The following platforms are in order of what we recommend you use.
In the case of Self-Hosted WordPress, you will need to purchase your own domain (web address) and hosting. If you are not familiar with a self-hosted WordPress blog, many hosts can set it up for you. Most hosts can offer a deal when you purchase your domain through them as well. Although you do not have to buy your domain and hosting from the same location, it can be the easier option if you are unfamiliar with websites. We purchased our domain through GoDaddy, and our hosting through KnownHost.

- 99designs Is primarily based around design contests.Design contests are where you submit an request for a design, and dozens to thousands of designers submit ideas for your request, and you get to choose. The bigger your budget – the more your request is sought after (and the more choices you get).
Design contests are 99designs‘ bread and butter. You can run a contest for anything from a blog logo design to a book cover design to a custom WordPress theme design. You set the budget; you get ideas over the next couple days, and then you choose. Simple enough, and it works really well.
Some of my clients have been very happy with the design direction they got from 99designs.
Even with free platforms, you may want to consider purchasing a domain name to make it more custom. We do not recommend either of these platforms, but understand that they may be the only option to start with.
- WordPress – This is different from the self-hosted platform, and you will not be allows to earn any money from ads or reviews, according to their TOS.
- Blogger – A Google owned free blog platform. Many have been wiped without reason or reply from Google. ALWAYS keep a backup saved to a flash drive, in case this happens to you.
Once you have a blog set up, you will want to create a social media presence for it. Set up a facebook page, twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, G+, YouTube, Snapchat, or any combination of them and more. Make sure you post the links to these social media platforms, in an easily seen location on your new blog.
How will i leave a review, going forward on Reviews For Free ?
